Lead Toddler Teacher

Job Description

Guidepost Montessori is seeking a Lead Toddler Teacher for their Spruce Tree school in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Lead Guide will support a mixed-age class of toddler-age children in a Montessori environment. The role involves preparing an environment that fosters independence and captivates a child’s interest. The Guide will provide personalized support to each child, working individually and in small groups, demonstrating how to use materials, and giving precise language to understand their experiences.

• Observing each child to understand their needs
• Preparing an orderly environment
• Cultivating independence and self-confidence
• Providing lessons to encourage practical life skills, language, and grace and courtesy
• Forming personal connections with each child
• Communicating and collaborating with parents

An ideal candidate:

• Is interested in pursuing certified Montessori training or has a Montessori diploma
• Has experience working with children ages 0-3
• Is familiar with child-led philosophies or open to learning more
