Software Engineer - Backend for Financial Products

Job Description

Motive is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team and focus on building Motive Cards for customers. In this role, the engineer will develop APIs and services that integrate with payment platforms to process transactions. The ideal candidate will contribute to building Motive's financial stack, ensuring reliability and performance for payment transactions. This involves integrating with payment platforms, generating invoices, processing transactions securely, and proactively preventing fraud.

• Build and scale data models and improve system performance.
• Design scalable API interfaces for internal and external applications.
• Learn billing/payment related third party integrations.
• Improve the cost of running a service in production.
• Build monitoring, logging, and debugging tools.
• Communicate effectively across functional teams.
• Work on AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Mentor and learn from other developers.

Requirements:

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Experience building product infrastructure, distributed systems, and data models.
• Experience in Ruby on Rails, Go Lang, Java, Javascript/Node.js or similar language.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience building for Cloud Infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, Azure or private clouds.
