Security Engineer

Job Description

Appfire is seeking a Security Engineer to join their Information Security team. This role reports to the Deputy CISO and involves handling security engineering and architecture-related tasks for the company. The Security Engineer will manage risk through a shared vision with Appfire’s business leaders, focusing on people, processes, systems, and metrics.

Role Involves:

• Collaborating with Engineering, IT Operations, and DevOps to design, engineer, and support security within cloud environments, products, and vendor solutions.
• Performing security assessments and penetration testing on web applications and mobile clients.
• Enforcing continuous security compliance for cloud apps and infrastructure.
• Reviewing and approving controls to protect data and technology assets.
• Supporting incident response and security operations.
• Ensuring compliance with the vulnerability management program.
• Providing expertise in the integration efforts of Appfire acquisitions.
• Implementing and maintaining information security systems and services.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering and/or architecture at a software company.
• Experience performing security work in a multi-cloud environment is preferred.
• Experience with at least one vulnerability scanning tool.
• Working knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python preferred) and Linux concepts.
• Experience with basic SQL and manipulating large data files is preferred.
• Understanding of key cryptography concepts.
• Knowledge of common information security frameworks is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
