Job Description
Reddit is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join its Poster Experience team within the Core Experience organization. This role focuses on enhancing the user journey in creating posts, a critical aspect of Reddit's content ecosystem. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy backend services, experiments, and products for millions of users. They will also integrate machine learning models and LLMs to improve product features and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. This is a fully remote position within the US or Canada.
What This Role Involves:
  • Designing, building, and shipping backend services.
  • Applying machine learning to improve user experience.
  • Providing technical direction to junior engineers.
  • Collaborating with product managers and designers.
  • Contributing to team strategy.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of backend software development experience.
  • Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift, or gRPC.
  • Experience integrating ML models and/or LLMs.
  • Experience providing direction to junior engineers.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
