Discord is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead its Storage Platform team. This team is responsible for managing databases and data services, ensuring reliable storage for over 200 million active users. The role involves guiding the technical vision, managing a team of engineers, ensuring infrastructure reliability, and collaborating with other teams to build new features.Discord is a multiplatform, multigenerational and multiplayer platform that helps people deepen their friendships around games and shared interests.Responsibilities:

• Guide the technical vision and roadmap for Discord's Storage Platform.
• Grow and manage a team of talented infrastructure and distributed systems engineers.
• Ensure Discord just works by building and operating reliable and efficient infrastructure.
• Work with leaders from all over the company to build new features.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager.
• Extensive experience managing large databases at scale and in complex environments.
• Experience with high scale distributed systems used by tens or hundreds of millions of users.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of teams across multiple functions.
• Ability to excel in undefined environments and find pragmatic solutions to complex challenges.
• A passion for coaching and developing engineers.
• Knowledge of industry trends and a desire to grow technical skills.
