Job Description
SEO is seeking a passionate and dedicated Associate Instructor to join their Summer Academy program for 10th and 11th grade ELA students. This role involves co-teaching alongside Instructors, facilitating classroom instruction, teaching mini-lessons, organizing small group and one-on-one instruction, and providing additional Scholar support. The Associate Instructor will use SEO's original curriculum and a student-centered approach to learning, playing a vital role in supporting students' journeys to college and beyond. This is a part-time, seasonal position located on the UC Law campus in San Francisco.
Responsibilities: - Co-teach four periods of ELA coursework, following provided lesson plans.
- Facilitate the use of technological resources for instruction.
- Prepare for lessons by internalizing and practicing provided materials.
- Implement adjustments to pacing and activities based on student needs.
- Project an energetic and engaging persona to promote student connections.
- Collaborate with SEO staff and other instructors.
- Respond to messages in a timely manner.
- Meet with instructional coaches to receive and implement feedback.
Requirements: - Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a content-related field.
- Experience working with high school-aged students.
- Comfortable with navigating technological learning systems.
- Expertise in high school-level English and Humanities subjects.
