Sr. Engineer – Closures Structures

Job Description

• Designing and developing automotive Closures Structures parts and assemblies.
• Designing at system and component level, optimizing for performance, size, weight, durability, and cost.
• Collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Working with Vehicle Safety, Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, Durability, Manufacturing, and Design Studio teams.
• Interpreting and using analysis results to guide design.
• Ensuring efficient process sequence and build quality with manufacturing.
• Creating testing plans and coordinating physical tests.
• Performing detailed analysis of section properties, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Coordinating virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities.
• Providing direction to others and negotiating balanced solutions.
• Determining required tolerances using GD&T.

• 5+ years of expertise in automotive Closures systems and sub-systems.
• Solid track record of successful system-level integration.
• Experience working with Class A surface data.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5/V6 or similar software.
• Hands-on experience in prototype and production assembly.
• Experience in technology, system, and supplier selection.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Detail-oriented with a problem-solving attitude.
• Design release engineering experience.
• Understanding of analysis tools such as ANSYS, OptiStruct, MatLab, ADAMS.
• Experience in full life cycle development.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes applicable to Closures Structures.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
