Job Description
Lucid Motors is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design and development of electrical components within optomechanical systems. The candidate will be responsible for leading the development of schematics and layouts for automotive control units and PCBs in light modules. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with automotive standards, and developing test strategies for electrical components and systems.   • Leading the development of schematics and layouts for automotive control units in optomechanical systems and PCBs in light modules.
  • Understanding and applying knowledge of LEDs, LED drivers, LDOs, DC/DC converters, PMICs, high speed communication and automotive SOCs in design and development processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with specifications and standards specific to the body electronics and lighting domain, such as ISO 26262, AEC-Q100, and automotive communication protocols.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements and specifications for control units and optomechanical systems.
  • Performing design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Working closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the availability of quality components for production.
  • Developing test strategies and validation plans for control units and optomechanical systems.
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting electrical issues.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical engineering with expertise in the body electronics, lighting and/or infotainment domain.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, layouts, PCB and FPC design principles.
  • Proficient in utilizing design tools such as Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro.
  • In-depth knowledge of LEDs, LED drivers, LDOs, DC/DC converters, PMICs, automotive SOCs, High speed communication and micro displays.
  • Familiarity with automotive specifications and standards related to body electronics and lighting, including ISO 26262 and AEC-Q100.
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
  • Proven experience in developing test plans and conducting validation tests for electrical components and systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
