Job Description
Lucid Motors is seeking a Technical Specialist to contribute to the development of automotive lighting systems. This role involves managing engineering concepts from initial phases, researching innovative solutions, and creating functional concepts for prototypes. The Technical Specialist will lead technical reviews, collaborate with design engineers, and ensure products meet Lucid Lighting's requirements.
Role Involves:
- Participating in early concept development.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams for optomechanical integration.
- Creating engineering concept feasibility for in-house projects.
- Developing 3D models in CATIA V5/V6.
- Mentoring design engineers.
- Validating lighting components and products.
- Leading product development with suppliers.
- Supporting DFM, Moldflow, and tooling reviews.
- Performing benchmark studies.
- Creating system requirements and specifications.
- Performing evaluations for legal compliance.
- Conducting root-cause analysis.
- Interpreting CAE, CFD, and Moldflow data.
- Proposing tooling approaches.
- Staying updated with emerging technologies.
- Managing parts from concept to production.
Requirements:
- Ten+ years of engineering experience in automotive or consumer electronics.
- Experience in design/development of optomechanical components.
- Knowledge of plastics, composites, and sheet metal.
- Knowledge in electrical and electronics.
- Knowledge in optical components manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of injection molding and plastic bonding processes.
- Experience with CATIA V5 and V6.
- Experience with DVP&R and DFMEA.
- Knowledge in GD&T.
- Willingness to travel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to interpret optical simulation reports.
- Knowledge in thermoplastics and thermoset resin materials.
- Team working and interpersonal skills.

- Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience in prototype and production assembly.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, physics, or related field.
