AFC Compliance Specialist

Bitpanda, a leading European investment platform headquartered in Austria, is seeking an AFC Compliance Specialist to join their team in Vienna. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of Bitpanda's financial ecosystem by conducting business customer onboarding, reviews, and monitoring activities in accordance with Austrian and German regulatory requirements.

The AFC Compliance Specialist will analyze complex corporate structures, assess risks, and ensure adherence to internal policies and applicable laws. They will also support the growth of Bitpanda’s business through informed risk-based decision-making.

What this role involves:

• Conducting comprehensive due diligence and ongoing monitoring of business customers.
• Identifying and assessing high-risk scenarios and proposing mitigation measures.
• Engaging with internal stakeholders to provide advisory support and compliance solutions.
• Escalating high-risk cases to the Anti-Money Laundering Officer (AMLO).
• Performing quality assurance reviews of onboarding activities.
• Supporting the development and improvement of onboarding processes and controls.

Requirements:

• A degree in Law, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Prior experience in compliance roles within banks, financial institutions, or fintech companies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in German, French, Italian or Spanish is an advantage.
• Adept at navigating diverse regulatory frameworks.
• Strong analytical and research capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
