Job Description
The Social Hub is seeking a Sous Chef in Glasgow to support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team and delivering exceptional food experiences. The Sous Chef will play a key role in managing kitchen operations, maintaining quality and hygiene, mentoring junior chefs, and ensuring smooth prep and service. This role requires creativity, operational excellence, and a passion for hospitality.
What this role involves:
- Supporting the Head Chef in leading daily kitchen operations.
- Mentoring and supervising junior kitchen staff.
- Executing menu items accurately and contributing ideas for creative specials.
- Assisting with inventory management and minimizing food waste.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene.
- Collaborating with the F&B service team to deliver a seamless guest experience.
- Supporting special events and promotions.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Sous Chef or senior Chef de Partie.
- Strong skills in modern, seasonal cooking.
- Proven leadership abilities and experience managing kitchen teams.
- Digital literacy with tools that help streamline kitchen operations.
- Passion for creativity, sustainability, and reducing food waste.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
