Data Scientist, International

Job Description

Whatnot is seeking a Data Scientist to join their team in London. This role involves providing technical expertise and analytical insights to solve problems and identify opportunities critical to Whatnot's growth in international markets. The Data Scientist will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Account Management, and Category leaders to drive data-informed decisions.

Role Involves:

• Driving end-to-end analysis of revenue and category performance in non-US markets.
• Identifying growth levers, risk vectors, and user behavior.
• Creating forward-looking insights and pressure-testing assumptions.
• Translating business questions into structured analyses.
• Building descriptive reporting and insight tools.
• Creating regional forecasts and directional models.
• Incorporating data from CX, Logistics, and Finance teams.
• Building dashboards and automated reporting.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in the Data Analytics field.
• Experience supporting go-to-market, sales, and marketing.
• Familiarity with local market behaviors.
• A track record of supporting localized growth efforts.
• Previous experience working with marketplaces, ecommerce, mobile gaming, or social media.
• Expertise in SQL and scripting languages.
• Proficiency with visualization and BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Mode, etc.).
• Strong business judgment.
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Comfortability with data warehouses and big data technologies.
