Job Description
Whatnot is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Payments team in Poland. Whatnot is the largest livestream shopping platform in North America and Europe. The Payments team is fundamental to the product’s global operations, powering every order, collecting payments, and managing returns and refunds. The company is experiencing rapid growth, and the team is responsible for building reliable, scalable infrastructure and developing innovative ways for users to transact. Each team member has a lot of individual responsibility and many freedoms. Team members in this role are required to be within commuting distance of Kraków or Wrocław, Poland.
Role involves:
- Building scalable systems that can handle millions of users.
- Owning projects from inception to production.
- Doing frontend work when required.
Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of software development experience.
- Comfort with multiple programming languages (Python, Elixir, JavaScript).
- Excellent product instincts.
- Ability to mentor others and build inclusive teams.
- Strong ownership instincts.
- Proven track record of delivering features.
- Experience with payment systems, infrastructure, and international commerce (nice to have).
- Startup experience at a high-growth company (nice to have).
