Working Student - Accounting & Tax

Job Description

Commercetools is seeking a highly organised and methodical Working Student to join its Finance team in Munich. This role offers a hybrid work environment, requiring three days a week in the Munich office. The Working Student will support daily accounting operations, contribute to financial statement preparation, and manage vendor and customer inquiries.

The role involves:

• Supporting operational daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Contributing to the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
• Ensuring proper processing of vendor queries and customer requests.
• Taking care of vendor/customer account reconciliation and maintenance of master data.
• Managing physical documents.
• Assisting strategic and operational Finance projects.
• Researching accounting and tax matters.
• Preparing ad-hoc analyses.

Requirements:

• Currently based in or close to Munich and enrolled in a German university program in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting Tax or similar.
• Theoretical knowledge in accounting according to HGB/IFRS.
• Strong interest in finance operations, administration, and process optimization.
• Very good MS Office skills and a general affinity for IT/tooling topics.
• Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
• Strong analytical skills and structured process thinking.
• Independent and proactive way of working.
