Senior Staff Software Development Engineer - DevOps

Job Description

Zscaler, a leading cloud security company, is seeking a Senior Staff DevOps Engineer for its Identity team. This role involves managing development and infrastructure demands, focusing on systems architecture, support, and security. The engineer will deploy systems and support peer developers, reporting to the Sr. Director, Engineering.Responsibilities include:

• Provisioning Zscaler services on public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) using Kubernetes, helm, and terraform
• Ensuring security compliance of service deployment
• Working with the team to control costs and optimize cloud utilization
• Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines
• Advocating and guiding Software Engineers in adopting DevOps philosophy

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience with an Engineering or Computer Science degree
• Specializing in hosting 24x7 services on public cloud platforms like AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure
• Automation and orchestration experience using relevant technologies (e.g., Terraform, Cloudformation, Ansible, etc.)
• Skilled in managing Kubernetes clusters and proficient with CI/CD tools like Bamboo and Jenkins
• Proficient in Databases and SQL (preferably Postgres) with experience in cloud architecture components like message queuing, in-memory caches, and load balancing
• Familiarity with logging and monitoring technologies such as prometheus, Grafana end ELK Stack

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Identity and Access Management protocols like OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, Federation, and SSO
