Director, Product Management-Emerging Technology and Innovation

Job Description

Twilio is seeking a Director of Product Management to join their Emerging Technology and Innovation team. This role focuses on identifying, exploring, and developing disruptive new products and platforms. The Director will lead a team of product managers in Horizon 3 innovation, shaping breakthrough product concepts that transform the enterprise landscape over the next 3-5+ years.

The Director will scout emerging technologies, societal shifts, and user problems to unlock new markets and create transformational value. They will architect the team’s approach for discovering, prioritizing, and validating product bets, fostering a culture of curiosity and experimentation.

Responsibilities include:

• Defining Horizon 3 strategy and leading the exploration of technological trends.
• Driving portfolio strategy for disruptive product bets.
• Providing market and technology intelligence to identify transformational product opportunities.
• Instilling repeatable frameworks for hypothesis-driven discovery and rapid prototyping.
• Building strong partnerships across engineering, research, design, and go-to-market functions.
• Coaching the team on customer interviews and market research.
• Communicating strategic vision and product rationale to executive leadership.
• Recruiting, mentoring, and leading a diverse team of Horizon 3 Product Managers.

Requirements:

• Proven experience (10+ years) as a Director or Senior Product Manager.
• Track record of launching new products or experimental projects.
• Deep familiarity with emerging technologies.
• Strong analytical and user research skills.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop product talent.
• Strategic influence and executive communication skills.
• Passion for inclusion and building an innovation culture.
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
