Software Engineer - Backend

Prodigal is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Platform team in Mumbai. Prodigal is reshaping the future of consumer finance with its Intelligence Engine, aiming to revolutionize how consumer finance companies engage with their customers.

The Software Engineer will play a key role in building Prodigal’s Intelligence Engine (PIE).

Responsibilities:

• Writing code and deploying to enterprise-grade applications in production.
• Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software components and services within the Prodigal platform.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of the platform by optimizing existing systems, adding new features, and ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.
• Conducting performance analysis, capacity management, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Ensuring quality and completeness of the product through unit, integration, and regression capabilities.
• Ensuring the quality of architecture and design of systems.
• Working on end-to-end systems and high-level/low-level design.

Requirements:

• B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (Tier 1 colleges preferred).
• 1+ year of experience in designing and building distributed systems, microservices architecture, or working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of database systems, both SQL and NoSQL.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong expertise in developing scalable, secure, and highly available software applications.
• Practical experience with AWS services, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps tools.
• Exposure to logging and monitoring tools such as Sentry, CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK, etc.
• Self-starter and self-learner, who never settles, is ready to jump into a variety of technologies and languages and is able to coordinate and collaborate with other team members
• Comfortable working in a fast paced environment while continuously evaluating emerging technologies
