Job Description
Roofstock is seeking a Service Technician to join their Construction Operations team. This role is crucial for maintaining properties and ensuring the smooth operation of rental units. The Service Technician will perform hands-on maintenance work and operational tasks to keep properties in a rent-ready state. Roofstock is the leading end-to-end investment platform for single-family rental homes (SFR).

Responsibilities:
  • Complete routine and preventive maintenance, inspections of units, common areas, and amenities.
  • Ensure heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are functioning correctly.
  • Perform tests for proper functionality and have general knowledge of HVAC components.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Respond to on-call and potentially after-hours emergencies.
  • Prepare homes by ensuring they are move-in ready.
  • Perform light cleaning duties.
  • Complete move-out, make ready, move-in, and annual inspections.
  • Conduct onboarding inspections for new homes and document asset information.
  • Work in a safe manner and recognize unsafe situations.
  • Post legal notices and inside maps across the property.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalency required; Associates degree from a technical college preferred.
  • 2+ years of direct building maintenance experience strongly desired.
  • Valid driver's license & reliable transportation.
  • Tools (hammer, screwdrivers, channel locks, multimeter, allen wrenches, pliers, knife, flashlight).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and efficiently manage one's schedule.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to learn and use systems for tracking, scheduling, and communications.
  • Ability to use mobile applications and other tools for a variety of tasks.
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to excellence and achieving goals.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends, if needed.
