Job Description
Archer Aviation is seeking a Flight Instrumentation Engineer to support the developmental test and certification efforts of its piloted eVTOL aircraft project. This role involves designing, installing, and maintaining data acquisition systems for flight test aircraft, collaborating with internal customers and vendors, and performing post-flight data processing. The Flight Instrumentation Engineer will also be a key advisor to the Instrumentation Director and will develop processes and documentation to support flight test instrumentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Designing, installing, and maintaining data acquisition systems.
  • Collaborating with internal customers and vendors to solve instrumentation challenges.
  • Performing post-flight data processing.
  • Developing processes and documentation for flight test instrumentation.
  • Collaborating with Flight Test Engineering and Certification Teams.
  • Assisting in designing instrumentation wiring and hardware.
  • Ensuring flight test instrumentation activities are completed on time and within budget.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience as an instrumentation engineer & experimental test.
  • Experience with data acquisition hardware and telemetry operations.
  • Experience with instrumentation systems design and implementation.
  • Experience with FTI systems and sensor maintenance.
  • Experience creating procedures and reports for hardware checkouts and test events.
  • Flight test configuration management process experience.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs unassisted.
