Senior Data Engineer (all genders)- Remote first set up (within Germany)

Job Description

Eurowings Digital is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Data Engineering team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in transforming raw data into high-quality, reliable assets for reporting, analytics, and advanced data products. The Senior Data Engineer will be part of a collaborative team, supported by a dedicated Data Architect and Program Manager.Role involves:

• Designing, building, and maintaining reliable and scalable data pipelines.
• Contributing to a modern cloud-based data platform in Azure and Databricks.
• Collaborating with Data Analysts and Data Scientists to co-create data products.
• Supporting and contributing to the internal data platform.
• Continuously improving data quality, documentation, and performance.
• Championing best practices in DataOps.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Deep understanding of data pipeline orchestration and ETL/ELT systems.
• Expertise in Scala or Python with strong SQL skills and experience using Spark.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures, especially Azure Cloud Platform and Databricks.
• Familiarity with streaming data frameworks (Kafka, Event Hubs, or similar).
• Solid grasp of data modeling concepts.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong collaboration mindset.
• High attention to detail.
• Skilled in stakeholder management.
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills.
