Job Description
Shakepay is seeking a People Operations Specialist to join their People team. This role focuses on managing the in-person, hybrid, and remote experiences for Shakepay's distributed team, while also supporting recruitment and employee branding efforts. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of recruitment experience and a desire to delve deeper into People operations within a startup environment. This position is based in Shakepay's Toronto office and requires working on-site four days a week, with responsibilities split evenly between recruitment and People Operations.

What this role involves:
  • Managing the full recruitment cycle for entry-level to intermediate positions.
  • Creating and organizing team events to enhance employee experience.
  • Maintaining HR systems like Rippling & Lattice.
  • Delivering an outstanding onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Maintaining office inventory and ensuring a well-maintained office environment.
  • Ensuring Health and Safety compliance across locations.
  • Supervising reception and serving as the main point of contact for building management.


Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of experience in People Operations and Recruitment in a tech or startup environment.
  • A natural ability to build relationships and help others.
  • A positive and inclusive approach to creating a positive work environment.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and pivot quickly.
  • Strong organizational and proactive skills.
  • A client-service mindset.
  • Resourcefulness and a solutions-focused attitude.
  • Ability to lift boxes or items up to 25 pounds.
