Job Description

Degreed is seeking a Release Manager / Release Engineer to oversee the release lifecycle and ensure timely, high-quality software deliveries. The Release Engineer will work closely with developers, QA engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams to optimize release processes, manage dependencies, and mitigate risks. This role is based in Bengaluru, India, and follows a hybrid work model.

The role involves:

  • Planning, coordinating, and executing release activities.
  • Overseeing hotfix releases for the US and India teams.
  • Validating releases with product and QA teams.
  • Redefining and implementing quality gates for releases.
  • Partnering with DevOps to enhance CI/CD pipelines.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks in the release lifecycle.
  • Acting as the primary contact for release-related activities.
  • Maintaining documentation of release workflows and best practices.
  • Establishing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Release Manager, Release Engineer, or DevOps Engineer.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, source control (Git), and build tools.
  • Expertise in agile development methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and observability tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
