Job Description
Bandwidth is seeking a Disputes & Litigation Counsel to join its global Legal Team. The ideal candidate will be a pragmatic, collaborative attorney with 1 to 3 years of litigation and dispute experience. This role can be based in either Denver, Colorado or Raleigh, North Carolina. The Disputes & Litigation Counsel will report to the SVP, Legal in the United States (based in Denver) who heads Bandwidth’s litigation and disputes work. This role is for an individual who has a litigation background and enjoys legal analysis, but also thrives when providing practical, solution-oriented legal support to the business. Experience working with or for public and/or global companies is preferred.
What This Role Involves:
- Providing day-to-day legal counsel to business teams regarding dispute prevention and resolution, including risk assessment and contract/evidentiary analysis
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather facts and evidence in support of litigation strategy
- Leading dispute investigations by gathering facts, conducting legal research, and synthesizing data to create actionable recommendations
- Creating persuasive legal documents including pleadings, discovery materials, motions, and resolution agreements that protect company interest and advance strategic objectives
- Supporting the management of ongoing litigation matters, including coordinating with outside counsel and ensuring alignment with business goals and strategies
- Assisting with employment-related disputes (prior employment law experience not required)
Requirements:
- J.D. with strong academic credentials and an active bar admission in the U.S.
- 1-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm or in-house setting
- Ability to translate complex legal concepts into business-friendly guidance
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Superior legal research, critical thinking, and writing skills
- Versatility to handle diverse responsibilities of varying complexities, types, and urgency
- Collaborative mindset for working colleagues in other time zones and the flexibility to travel on occasion
- Experience with civil procedure and litigation processes
- Proficiency with legal research tools and standard office software
