Job Description
ESA is seeking a Senior Climate Resilience Planner to support its growing Climate Change Planning Practice. The role involves developing sea level rise vulnerability assessments and adaptation plans for public and private sector clients. The planner will interface with clients, manage projects, assist with business development, provide policy and technical direction, and forge internal and external partnerships.ESA is looking for someone with strong technical analysis, data management, communication, and writing skills, along with in-depth knowledge of coastal adaptation planning processes and climate legislation in California and the US.Responsibilities:
  • Managing complex multidisciplinary planning projects.
  • Leading business strategy and development.
  • Serving as project manager and supervising project teams.
  • Coordinating with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Preparing detailed planning studies and reports.
  • Providing quality assurance and quality control of deliverables.
  • Marketing ESA’s climate planning services.
  • Fostering meaningful engagement with diverse communities.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Supporting the professional development of ESA staff.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience or advanced degree with 8+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in a consulting environment with project management and business development experience.
  • Demonstrated critical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills.
