Data Science Lead

Flo, a leading female health app with over 75 million monthly users, is seeking a Data Science Lead to join their team in London. This role involves leading the Predictive Growth Optimization team, which is responsible for developing machine learning models that drive user acquisition, predict lifetime value, and optimize marketing spend. The Data Science Lead will balance technical leadership with people management, building production systems that directly impact Flo's growth trajectory. The company has over 6M paid subscribers and the highest-rated experience in the App Store’s health category.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of 4+ ML and Backend engineers.
• Own pLTV strategy and evolve core predictive lifetime value models.
• Build production ML systems, from MMM algorithms to real-time forecasting models.
• Drive cross-functional impact by partnering with Growth, Product, and Finance.
• Shape technical architecture and guide MLOps infrastructure.
• Contribute to modeling, architecture decisions, and technical problem-solving.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of applied ML experience building and deploying models in production.
• 4+ years of experience managing technical teams.
• Expert knowledge of ML fundamentals.
• Experience with modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, CatBoost).
• Experience with growth analytics, attribution modeling, or marketing effectiveness.
• Understanding of user acquisition funnels and retention optimization.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience deploying ML models at scale.
• Knowledge of MLOps practices.
• Understanding of data engineering fundamentals and cloud platforms.
