Job Description
Altera, a member of the N. Harris Computer Corporation family, is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Altera delivers health IT solutions that support caregivers around the world. This role involves developing and maintaining clinical and operational applications in a healthcare environment, supporting real-time data exchange, compliance, and automation initiatives. The Software Engineer will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to production support, with a focus on quality, scalability, and performance.
Role involves:
- Developing and maintaining clinical and operational applications.
- Building and supporting healthcare data automation tools.
- Developing WPF-based downtime registration and evacuation apps.
- Implementing a custom real-time specimen messaging system.
- Modernizing legacy C# and VB applications.
- Supporting HIPAA compliance efforts.
- Contributing to CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance.
- Integrating with EHR systems and HL7-based interfaces.
- Using Python, Pandas, and SQL Server for data parsing and reporting.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
- Experience with C#, .NET Core, and WPF.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Microsoft Azure, and AWS.
- Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.
- Familiarity with HL7 and SQL Server.
- Experience with Git, Hangfire, and CI/CD.
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance and EHR systems.
- Experience with NATS and Terminal Emulation.
