Principal Software Engineer

Job Description

Altera, a member of the N. Harris Computer Corporation family, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to contribute to their health IT solutions. The candidate will be responsible for understanding requirements, business cases, and user stories to design, develop, and test applications that meet acceptance criteria. They will act as a liaison with Business Analysts and clients to ensure requirements are understood and will produce supporting technical and installation documentation.

The Principal Software Engineer will play a technical lead role, developing and maintaining standards for the team. They will research and propose relevant emerging technologies to develop a technical edge for the product.

Responsibilities include:

• Acting as Liaison with Business Analysts and clients
• Producing and executing unit test cases
• Maintaining coding standards
• Producing technical and installation documentation
• Achieving productivity targets
• Completing software components within defined timelines
• Producing technical specifications and unit test plans
• Reviewing and approving technical design specifications
• Developing and maintaining development standards
• Researching and proposing relevant emerging technologies
• Acting as a specialist on complex technical areas

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science preferred
• 4-7 years relevant work experience preferred
• Experience with ASP.NET Web Forms, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, C#, SQL Server, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Blazor, Visual Studio, Git
• Profound knowledge in computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis
