Job Description
Ocado Technology is seeking a Bot Workshop Trainee Technician to join their team at the Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC) in Erith. In this role, the technician will be responsible for the diagnosis and repair of Ocado robot sub-assemblies and Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), as well as carrying out Root Cause Analysis to help deliver continuous improvement to Ocado’s robot infrastructure. The role focuses on testing and repairing robot sub-assemblies and PCBs daily, ensuring quality spares are available to support operations.
Responsibilities: - Test and repair mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies, including printed circuit boards.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Stores team to maintain a steady supply of sub-assemblies.
- Update work records, task details, and parts usage.
- Participate in training for internal processes, testing, and repairs.
- Work with internal departments to improve processes and enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Analyze data to enhance equipment performance and provide reports as needed.
Requirements: - A technical ability and understanding relating to automation hardware and equipment with experience in dismantling, diagnosing, repair and quality testing of your own and others’ work is desirable but not essential
- Demonstrable analytical skills with sound problem solving ability
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to impart knowledge effectively to others
- Good organisation skills, able to prioritise
