Job Description
GitLab, an open core software company known for its AI-powered DevSecOps platform, is seeking a Group Manager, Product to lead the Plan stage product categories. This role involves managing and building a team of Product Managers, reporting to the VP of Product, and defining the product strategy for the Plan stage, which includes project management, product planning, knowledge management, and optimization tools. The primary focus is to mature all Plan categories.

What this role involves:
  • Recruiting, hiring, and developing a high-performing product team.
  • Collaborating with Product Leadership to define and communicate the product vision.
  • Distilling the overall vision into a compelling roadmap.
  • Ensuring the vision advances in every release and communicating this progress.
  • Engaging in customer conversations, demos, blogging, and interviews to promote the vision.
  • Working closely with R&D, Engineering, UX, Quality, and Go-to-Market teams.

Requirements:
  • Experience leading a team of Product Managers.
  • Experience as a Product Manager with recognised achievements.
  • Experience hiring teams in high-growth companies.
  • Experience in DevOps.
  • Experience as a user of tools like Jira, Monday, or Trello.
  • Technical background or understanding of work management and planning tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, project management, knowledge management, and value stream optimization.
