Job Description
GitLab is seeking a Strategic Account Executive - Manufacturing to join their team in Japan. This is a remote position where the candidate will support GitLab for strategic and larger customers in Japan, leveraging their experience in selling to Enterprise Customers. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Enterprise Accounts in FSI and Insurance customers but experience selling to other Industries will be considered.
Role involves:
- Contributing to root cause analysis on wins/losses.
- Communicating lessons learned to the team.
- Taking ownership of your book of business.
- Providing account leadership in the pre- and post-sales process.
- Conducting sales activities including prospecting and developing opportunities.
- Ensuring the successful rollout and adoption of GitLab products.
- Being the voice of the customer by contributing product ideas.
- Traveling as necessary to accounts to develop relationships and close large opportunities.
- Generating qualified leads and developing new customers with strategic channel partners.
- Expanding knowledge of industry and competitive posture.
- Preparing activity and forecast reports.
- Updating and maintaining the sales database.
- Assisting sales management in conveying customer needs.
- Utilizing a consultative approach to discuss business issues with prospects.
- Responding to RFPs and following up with prospects.
- Developing account plans based on customer business needs.
- Building and strengthening business relationships with current and new prospects.
- Recommending marketing strategies.
Requirements:
- A true desire to see customers benefit from their investment.
- High degree of government major account management and control.
- Demonstrated experience selling into government accounts with a comprehensive understanding of Manufacturing and Electronics customers.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision on complex projects.
- Proven success with B2B software sales.
- Experience selling into large organizations.
- Interest in GitLab and open source software.
- Ability to leverage established relationships and proven sales techniques.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Motivated, driven, and results-oriented.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
- Preferred experience with Git, Software Development Tools, and Application Lifecycle Management.
