Senior Data Engineer (Ruby)

Job Description

Healthie is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and scaling of its data migration and integration pipelines. This role is critical for onboarding new enterprise customers and ensuring seamless interoperability with external platforms. The Senior Data Engineer will own the architecture and implementation of core ETL workflows, ingesting, transforming, and validating complex healthcare data from various systems. They will collaborate with engineering and customer success teams to automate and streamline these processes, ensuring data quality, scalability, and compliance. • Leading the design, development, and scaling of data migration and integration pipelines.
• Owning the architecture and implementation of core ETL workflows.
• Ingesting, transforming, and validating complex healthcare data.
• Automating and streamlining processes to ensure data quality, scalability, and compliance.
• Collaborating with engineering and customer success teams.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of engineering experience with strong backend skills in Ruby or a similar language.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Experience building production-grade, fault-tolerant ETL pipelines at scale.
• Skills in transforming messy, inconsistent data into clean, performant systems.
• Ability to build reusable, automated tools that scale with the business.
• Prioritization of data quality, observability, and compliance.
• Clear communication and effective collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.
