Renewal Underwriter

Job Description

Jencap Insurance Services is seeking a Renewal Underwriter to join their team in Springfield, MO. The Renewal Underwriter will be integral to maintaining a high level of service and responsiveness on current accounts. The underwriter will work with agent, broker clients, and internal teams to underwrite profitable business consisting of renewal commercial P&C insurance within authority level, working on a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Determine the acceptability, quality and profitability of existing business.
• Collect, maintain and analyze data for underwriting decisions.
• Manage assigned territory, completing renewals and endorsements accurately.
• Provide timely and efficient customer service.
• Make recommendations on risks beyond assigned authority level.
• Address assigned workload within quality, productivity and service standards.
• Meet regularly with broker/underwriting teams on strategy and follow-up.
• Handle special projects as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of work-related experience in P&C renewal underwriting process.
• Participate in company organized insurance seminars and workshops.
• Travel as needed.
