Job Description

Capco is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their growing Engineering team in London. This role is hybrid, requiring a blend of remote and on-site work. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering innovative solutions in the financial services sector and enjoy solving complex problems using cloud-native technologies within agile teams.

As a Senior SDET at Capco, the individual will contribute to impactful, client-facing projects that are shaping the future of financial services. They will collaborate with talented engineers, access industry-leading training, and have opportunities to enhance their skills across various platforms and domains within FS & Energy.

Role involves:

  • Creating, driving, and building robust, reusable, and scalable test strategies.
  • Creating detailed test artefacts such as test plans, test specifications, automated tests, defect tickets, and reports.
  • Managing test environments and test devices, defining and creating consistent test data and reports.
  • Planning and executing tests with cross-functional teams using the latest test automation technologies, processes, and tools.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and up-skilling other automation engineers.
  • Communicating complex ideas to non-experts with confidence.

Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of at least one OOP language (Java, Scala, or JavaScript preferred).
  • Experience building test automation frameworks from scratch using tools like WebDriver, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.
  • Experience across different test layers, with a preference for exposure to both API and UI layer automation.
  • Experience with test and issue management tools such as Jira, RTC, TestRail, and Quality Centre.
  • Good understanding of public cloud, infrastructure, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, GitHub, Stash, and SonarQube.
