Technical Program Manager, Technical Compliance

Job Description

Google DeepMind is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join their GDM CORE Programs team, supporting the GDM Technical Compliance team. This role is within the GDM Privacy & Security organization. The Technical Program Manager will lead and coordinate high-priority, GDM-wide, cross-functional technical compliance programs. They will ensure GDM addresses the regulatory scrutiny it faces. The ideal candidate will build structure amidst complex requirements, craft innovative solutions, and develop strong partnerships with stakeholders across GDM Legal, Engineering, RCI, and Regulatory Affairs.Role involves:

• Managing large-scale, cross-functional technical compliance programs.
• Overseeing responses to regulatory requests for information.
• Partnering with senior stakeholders across various departments.
• Developing a deep technical understanding of GDM’s models and systems.
• Translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable guidance.
• Tracking and validating technical remediation for findings.
• Driving the development of a GDM-specific risk management program.
• Creating and maintaining a portfolio view of technical compliance programs.
• Collaborating with leadership to translate compliance requirements into roadmaps.
• Partnering with the GDM Compliance Lead to design scalable infrastructure.
• Developing a strategy to strengthen knowledge management.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in managing technical compliance programs.
• Experience of operational improvement programs.
• Ability to manage complex, cross-organizational programs.
• A background that intersects with legal/policy and technical domains.
• Experience partnering with senior stakeholders.
• Experience managing responses to regulatory requests for information.
• An understanding of the technologies that underpin large-scale AI model development.
• Strong communication skills.
