Job Description

Google DeepMind is seeking a highly motivated Full Stack Software Engineer to join the People+AI Research (PAIR) team. This role involves building tools that push the boundaries of human-AI interaction, leveraging transformer-based large/generative language model technology. The engineer will work in foundational research, exploring how generative models can improve human experiences.

The PAIR team is a cross-functional group of human-AI interaction and machine learning researchers and engineers focused on algorithmic technology, design, and human-AI collaboration. The role offers high impact by exploring use-cases and creating tools that unlock new value from AI for users.

Responsibilities:

• Prototype and develop web apps and their backends using the latest AI models.
• Understand different types of end-users, including everyday users and domain experts.
• Collaborate with partner teams to transition concepts from research to production systems.

Requirements:

• Expertise in web front end development using modern web component technologies.
• Experience with Typescript preferred.
• Experience with Python and use of generative AI preferred.
• A perspective as a user of GenAI for your work, life, or personal projects.
• Knowledge of the basic workings of modern AI models.
• Experience working with researchers in a fast-paced research to prototype environment.
