Senior IT Security Engineer

Job Description

BitMEX is seeking a Senior IT Security Engineer to join their corporate IT and Security team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in a remote environment. This role involves configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting various IT and Security SaaS platforms, implementing best practices to harden these platforms and endpoint environments.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and improving SaaS applications
• Hardening platforms and endpoints
• Automating lifecycle management
• Reviewing and optimizing network security
• Streamlining operational workflows
• Administering user accounts and policies
• Collaborating on security initiatives
• Supporting compliance audits
• Providing remote IT support
• Researching and implementing technologies
• Developing technical documentation

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 14+ years of relevant experience, with 8+ years in advanced IT, DevOps, or Security Engineering
• Experience with SSO/IAM solutions like Okta or EntraID
• Expertise in security technologies such as EDR, DLP, VPN/Proxy services, and logging mechanisms
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS and GCP, along with Kubernetes
• Proficiency in using JAMF and/or other similar Mobile Device Management platforms for macOS and iOS device management
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, DNS, VPNs, and network ACLs
• Proficiency in programming and infrastructure automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Bash, Python
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
