Lightspeed is seeking a Senior Collection Specialist to join their Finance team in Montreal. This role reports to the Collection Manager and involves direct client contact, focusing on managing overdue accounts. The ideal candidate enjoys client interaction, possesses accounting knowledge, and remains friendly, calm, and firm.

Role Involves:

  • Managing a portfolio of complex, high-value overdue accounts.
  • Analyzing account aging reports and identifying risk patterns.
  • Acting as the primary contact for escalated collection cases.
  • Managing referrals to third-party collection agencies.
  • Responding to client inquiries regarding billing.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure contract terms are applied correctly.
  • Supervising daily payment application processes.
  • Investigating and resolving complex account discrepancies.
  • Reviewing and reconciling accounts receivable.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in collections.
  • Good understanding of accounts receivable and basic accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to explain billing adjustments and discrepancies clearly.
  • Experience as an escalation point.
  • Experience with billing platforms or ERP systems is a major asset.
