Staff Software Engineer

Job Description

dbt Labs is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to spearhead the development of scalable, high-impact applications and services that power its platform. The role involves working across the stack and teams to deliver solutions to a rapidly growing customer base. The engineer will impact the mission by enhancing the scalability, security, and usability of the platform.Responsibilities include:

• Designing, building, and maintaining full-stack applications.
• Leading technical architecture discussions.
• Tackling ambiguous problems with strategic thinking.
• Building services, APIs, and experiences.
• Collaborating with Product, Design, Operations, and Security teams.
• Defining and driving best practices in testing and observability.
• Mentoring engineers and championing a culture of technical excellence.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or completed enrollment in engineering related bootcamp.
• Proven experience designing and scaling full-stack applications.
• Proficiency with backend languages and frameworks.
• Strong understanding of API design, system architecture, and database management.
• Experience leading complex projects and driving cross-functional collaboration.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction.
