Senior Backend Engineer, Crypto

Pulley is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in backend systems and crypto to expand its product offering for web3 startups. The engineer will collaborate with design, product, and AI teams to build user experiences and scalable infrastructure. Pulley aims to bridge the gap between traditional equity and emerging token models, providing founders with tools to manage both. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity and enjoys solving business problems at scale.

What this role involves:

• Designing and building backend systems for token-based cap tables, airdrops, vesting schedules, and governance models.
• Serving as a subject matter expert on crypto protocols, token standards, wallets, and blockchain integrations.
• Collaborating with product, design, and AI teams to define and ship new features for crypto-native companies.
• Building APIs, data models, and backend services with an emphasis on security and reliability.
• Translating legal and compliance requirements into scalable software abstractions.
• Contributing to internal discussions and strategic planning around Pulley’s crypto product roadmap.

Requirements:

• 5–7 years of backend software engineering experience, with a strong command of Go or Python.
• Deep understanding of crypto/web3 technologies: token standards, smart contracts, on-chain data, and wallets.
• Experience working with blockchain APIs and infrastructure.
• Strong product sense and ability to translate complex requirements into clean, maintainable systems.
• Experience working in high-trust domains like fintech, infra, or security.
• A collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally with product and design.
