Pulley is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to spearhead the design and development of impactful product experiences for founders managing their companies. This role is pivotal, requiring someone who excels at the intersection of engineering and product, connecting technical decisions to user needs, guiding cross-functional teams, and scaling systems. As a Staff Engineer at Pulley, the candidate will take end-to-end ownership of critical initiatives, influence the long-term technical strategy, and mentor the team.Pulley believes that more startups should exist and that founder-led companies are more successful in the long term. With Pulley’s cap table management tools, companies can better understand and optimize their equity for the long term.
What this role involves: - Leading technical design, implementation, and delivery of major product features and infrastructure improvements.
- Partnering with product and design to translate user needs into scalable software solutions.
- Driving architectural decisions that improve performance, maintainability, and developer velocity.
- Collaborating across the stack: frontend, backend, data, and AI systems.
- Identifying and addressing engineering-wide challenges.
- Mentoring engineers and shaping team processes.
Requirements: - 8+ years of experience building and scaling full-stack web applications.
- Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
- Proven experience owning complex technical projects end-to-end.
- A strong product mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving cross-functional alignment.
- Familiarity or interest in AI-powered developer tools.
