Datacenter Operations Engineer (Shifts)

Job Description

Leaseweb is seeking a Datacenter Operations Engineer to join their growing infrastructure team in Haarlem. This role involves hands-on work with server hardware, installations, and troubleshooting, ensuring smooth operations for customers. The engineer will be part of a 24/7 shift-based team, collaborating with the Technical Support team and other Leaseweb datacenters.

The role involves:

• Deploying and maintaining servers, private racks, colocation spaces, and other critical infrastructure.
• Performing Windows and Linux server installations, including hardware and software configuration.
• Managing hardware and software updates.
• Handling server recovery, troubleshooting, and testing.
• Overseeing hardware and spare parts replacements.
• Resolving technical support tickets and collaborating with Level 1 support.
• Maintaining detailed documentation.
• Supporting projects related to provisioning or relocating servers.
• Coordinating with other datacenter teams within Leaseweb.

Requirements:

• Strong IT background and understanding of datacenter environments.
• Flexibility to work in shifts.
• Hands-on experience with server hardware (Dell, HP, or Supermicro preferred).
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Experience with server building, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Effective communication skills.
• Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach.
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts.
• Driver’s License and eligibility to work in the Netherlands.
