Guidepost Montessori in Oak Brook, Illinois, is seeking a Lead Infant Teacher. The Lead Guide will support a mixed-age class of infant age children in a Montessori environment. The role involves preparing an environment that fosters independence and captivates a child’s interest. The Guide provides personalized support, working with children individually and in small groups, demonstrating how to use materials, and giving precise language to understand their experiences.

• Observing each child to understand their needs.
• Following the natural rhythms of sleeping, eating, and toileting.
• Preparing an orderly environment that fosters trust and independence.
• Cultivating independence and self-confidence.
• Communicating respectfully with parents.

An ideal candidate:

• Is interested in Montessori training or has a Montessori diploma.
• Has experience working with children ages 0-3.
• Is familiar with child-led philosophies.
• Has 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development credits.
• Has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, ECE, or a related subject.
