Job Description

FREENOW is seeking a highly motivated and customer-centric General Manager to lead its German operations. This role involves close collaboration with central teams and reports directly to the Regional General Manager. The successful candidate will assume full ownership of FREENOW's business in Germany and Austria, focusing on strategic development, market positioning, and P&L responsibility.

The General Manager will champion FREENOW's vision locally, advocate for all customer segments, and drive service expansion through engagement with regulators and key industry stakeholders.

Role Involves:

  • Planning and delivering P&L and KPI targets.
  • Identifying and developing new revenue streams.
  • Implementing robust operational planning and financial control systems.
  • Collaborating with central Finance teams to achieve P&L objectives.
  • Steering supply and demand using understanding of unit economics.
  • Developing and evaluating value propositions for drivers, passengers, and businesses.
  • Optimising daily operations, including customer service and driver relationships.
  • Cultivating relationships with government bodies, regulators, and trade organisations.
  • Representing the German market within central functions.
  • Monitoring key business metrics and pursuing new growth opportunities.
  • Engaging with the press, regulators, and government to advocate for the ride-hailing industry.
  • Championing talent development and retention within the team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading senior teams with direct P&L ownership.
  • Confident presence with strong social and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset focused on continuous improvement, leveraging technology.
  • Extensive experience in sales, marketing, and commercial negotiations.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable navigating ambiguity in scaling a technology marketplace.
  • Deep understanding of technology-driven marketplaces.
  • Extensive network within German market segments preferred.
  • Native or near-native (C2) German level and at least a C1 level in English.
