Job Description
Ohana Child Development Center, located at Bandwidth's Raleigh NC Headquarters, is seeking a Classroom Floater. Ohana provides Montessori/RIE based programming for children aged 4 months to 5 years and serves the families of Bandwidth employees. The Classroom Floater will support classroom teachers by providing breaks and filling in where needed to comply with ratio standards. They will work in a collaborative environment, sharing knowledge and learning from others.
What this role involves:
- Managing physical care of children using Montessori and RIE techniques.
- Assisting in classrooms to provide breaks for teachers and teacher assistants.
- Adapting to changing environments and implementing feedback.
- Ensuring the daily care and safety of every child.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized classroom.
- Modeling pro-social behavior and using positive discipline strategies.
- Forming respectful relationships with families, children, and teachers.
- Communicating important information to teachers.
- Maintaining a professional self-image.
- Keeping up with required training hours and certifications.
- Attending faculty meetings regularly.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalency (GED).
- EDU 119 Certificate.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children in a group setting.
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood.
- Communication skills (oral and written).
