Job Description
Pico, a global company headquartered in New York, is seeking a Revenue Accountant to join their team in Belfast. Pico fuels the global capital markets community by providing exceptional market data services and customized managed infrastructure solutions.This role will be a key member of the revenue accounting team, primarily responsible for international revenue accounting, while also contributing to US revenue accounting. The Revenue Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day accounting, month-end close activities, management reporting, financial reporting, and assisting in financial audits.
Responsibilities: - Oversee and manage revenue accounting processes relating to invoicing, contract maintenance, and deferred revenue reconciliations.
- Manage monthly revenue accounting close process, including preparing revenue-related ledger entries, accrual preparation, and revenue recognition/deferred revenue reconciliations.
- Prepare and review balance sheet and revenue account analysis, reconciliations, and commentaries.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP revenue recognition standards and internal controls processes.
- Implement and maintain revenue recognition policies and procedures.
- Review sales orders for the correct accounting treatment considering revenue recognition and related cost allocation.
- Manage the revenue cycle and reporting in (statutory) audits and Financial Statements.
- Act as a liaison with external auditors and proactively resolve revenue-related issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, FP&A, Product Management, and legal to ensure accurate revenue reporting.
- Support the implementation of new accounting systems and standards.
- Identify areas for process improvement and develop automated workflows to increase efficiency.
Requirements: - ACA / ACCA or equivalent certification preferred with minimum 2/3 years of PQE required in either practice or similar international organisation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills together with advanced proficiency in Excel / Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with Oracle; Salesforce (or other ERP) preferred.
- Exposure to different accounting standards (USGAAP, IFRS and local GAAP) relating to revenue accounting
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work with global accounting team members located in both Dublin and New York.
- Ability and willingness to work in a growing business environment and meet critical business deadlines.
