Job Description

A prominent food manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Operations Lead to oversee daily operations at their Hazelwood, Missouri facility. The Operations Lead will be responsible for ensuring smooth production processes, from pre-processing to final food packaging, while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food manufacturing, team leadership, and process optimization.

The role involves:

  • Overseeing daily operations of ingredient processing and food packaging departments.
  • Ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production yield, downtime, and waste reduction.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize workflow and minimize bottlenecks.
  • Troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensuring all products meet quality and safety standards, including FDA, USDA, GMP, HACCP, and other relevant regulations.
  • Providing training on food safety, equipment operation, and best manufacturing practices.
  • Overseeing maintenance and troubleshooting of processing and packaging equipment.
  • Enforcing workplace safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing operations, including both ingredient processing and packaging.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP, GMP, HACCP, FSMA, and other food safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in production planning, inventory control, and process optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in using Outlook, Teams, RedZone, and other company software programs.
