Developer Advocate

Job Description

GitLab, an open core software company known for its AI-powered DevSecOps platform, is seeking a Developer Advocate to join their Developer Relations team. This role focuses on building connections with the global developer community through content creation, community engagement, and cross-functional consulting.

The Developer Advocate will contribute to GitLab's developer community strategy, working with DevSecOps technologies and AI-powered development tools. They will help grow developer mindshare through technical excellence and authentic community relationships.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating technical content such as blog posts, tutorials, and videos
• Engaging with developers online and offline through forums, events, and presentations
• Fostering a welcoming and inclusive community
• Championing developer needs within GitLab
• Collaborating with internal teams and strategic partners

Requirements:

• Experience creating software or contributing to open source projects
• Experience with security and/or AI tools
• Experience creating technical content
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Comfortable presenting to technical audiences and ability to travel up to 20% of the time
