Job Description
Affirm is seeking a Senior Manager in Employee Relations to serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership and People Business Partners (PBPs). This role involves providing expert guidance and proactive solutions to foster a positive and productive work environment. The Senior Manager will be instrumental in interpreting and applying company policies, managing complex employee relations issues, and ensuring fair and consistent practices across the organization. Furthermore, they will lead and develop the Employee Relations team, empowering them to effectively address employee concerns and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

Role involves:
  • Serving as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters.
  • Identifying and analyzing employee relations trends and potential risks.
  • Leading and developing the Employee Relations team.
  • Leading and managing complex employee investigations.
  • Partnering with Employment Legal and People Business Partners to interpret and apply employment laws.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Providing expert guidance and coaching to managers and employees.
  • Collaborating with the broader People team.
  • Leading the development and implementation of proactive employee relations initiatives.
  • Analyzing employee relations data and feedback.
  • Managing and resolving employee grievances and complaints.
  • Partnering with the business during organizational changes.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential employee relations records.

Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in Employee Relations.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a team.
  • Deep understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Proven track record of effectively managing complex employee relations issues.
  • Strong expertise in developing and implementing employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional business acumen.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
