Job Description
Affirm is seeking a Senior Manager in Employee Relations to serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership and People Business Partners. This role is crucial in fostering a positive and productive work environment. The Senior Manager will lead the Employee Relations team, providing guidance and coaching to ensure high performance and professional growth. This position requires deep expertise in employee relations principles, employment law, risk management, and team leadership.

Role involves:
  • Serving as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters.
  • Identifying and analyzing employee relations trends and potential risks.
  • Leading and developing the Employee Relations team.
  • Managing complex employee investigations.
  • Partnering with Employment Legal and People Business Partners to interpret and apply employment laws.
  • Developing and implementing employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Providing guidance and coaching to managers and employees.
  • Collaborating with the broader People team.
  • Leading the development and implementation of proactive employee relations initiatives.
  • Analyzing employee relations data to identify key trends and systemic issues.
  • Managing and resolving employee grievances and complaints.
  • Partnering with the business during organizational changes.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential employee relations records.

Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in Employee Relations.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a team.
  • Deep understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Proven track record of effectively managing complex employee relations issues.
  • Strong expertise in developing and implementing employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional business acumen.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
