Job Description
Science Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Semiconductor Facilities & Equipment Engineer to manage the technical aspects of their MEMS Foundry facility expansion in North Carolina. This role involves supporting tool acquisition, installation, and maintenance for various semiconductor processes within Class 100 and Class 1000 cleanrooms. The engineer will be integral to the design and implementation of a new modular fabrication facility, coordinating preventive maintenance, tool upgrades, and equipment repairs across multiple sites. The position requires close collaboration with leadership, engineering, and process technician teams to quickly identify and resolve tool problems.Role responsibilities include:
  • Leading a small team of equipment engineers.
  • Managing semiconductor equipment procurement, installation, and maintenance.
  • Completing basic facilities installations.
  • Coordinating with subcontractors on complex installations.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems.
  • Interpreting electrical schematics and flow charts.
  • Placing orders for spare and replacement parts.
  • Supporting the Continuous Improvement Program to meet ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with Company policies and OSHA rules.
Key qualifications include:
  • Familiarity with semiconductor equipment for photolithography, RIE, thin-film deposition, LPCVD/diffusion, electroplating, and more.
  • Exceptional problem-solving ability and deep technical knowledge.
  • Extensive mechanical and electrical experience.
  • Self-starter with innovative and efficient work methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
